TIDY TOWN - New Chairperson. At its recent AGM the Emly tidy town committee appointed a new chairperson in succession to Sharon Cunningham who stood down after seven years in that office during which time Emly won the National Tidy Town’s Award. The new chairperson is Jonas Callanan. Seamus Cunningham is the new Secretary and Catherine Quish is Treasurer.

MANY YOUNG MEN OF TWENTY Emly Variety Players recently produced the John B Keane play Many Young Men of Twenty. FUNDRAISING Voluntary clubs have to fall back on fundraising to fund activities. It is hard for clubs to find original ways to raise funds. Some organisations are holding scrap metal collections to help their funding. Emly GAA club in conjunction with Bord na NOg and the Ladies Football club are planning a scrap metal collection for the month of April.

MUSIC A group of students from Emly National School visited Bru Boru, Cashel on Friday night and were part of a music session that took place there. Each student in the school is given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument under the tuition of their music teacher Noelle Kirschner.
